Beadie is a founding director of the Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation. She helps to run the various training programmes at the Foundation, supports the Good Pitches and provides editorial input on films across the slate.
Beadie still works as a documentary filmmaker. She was the producer on Unknown White Male, which was selected for Sundance and made the Oscar shortlist in 2006. More recently, Beadie directed The Hunger Season, a feature doc on food aid for More4, NHK Japan, SBS Australia and YLE Finland and Only When I Dance, a classic narrative documentary following two young Brazilian teenagers as they strive to realise an extraordinary dream, which premiered at Tribeca 09.
