The Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation is a new social entrepreneurship organisation bringing new thinking to public service delivery.

The Foundation exists to nurture new talent and new approaches in documentary filmmaking. With its launch, the Foundation brings a completely new way – alongside television – to develop, fund and distribute the work of the next generation of UK documentary filmmakers.

REAL WORK

So far our grants have enabled over 40 wonderful, award winning and influential films to be made – check them out here

But our work only begins there – we train, inform, inspire, gather and campaign too.  Please look around the site to discover more about how we deliver our mission.

The media landscape is transforming fast and we are committed to going beyond TV to find new ways to make important, world changing documentaries happen.  We need partners to help us achieve our goals – if you are interested in being one of them, we’d really, really like to hear from you.

"We believe that documentaries are a vital part of British culture and democracy with a unique role to play in reflecting on the way we live and challenging our ideas, assumptions and fears about the past, present and future of the world"
