Real Films

Thanks to Channel 4’s generous support, we have already made over £1,500,000 in grants to support independent filmmakers and artists making over 40 different documentary projects.

British filmmakers are amongst the best in the world and the Foundation exists to foster their talent and help them to develop both their craft and their careers as directors. It is our firm belief that we have to take risks and back independent voices to maintain a healthy creative balance in filmmaking.

Our grants support filmmakers across the board from first timers to Emmy award winners. We are proud to be working with a range of voices, 28% of them female and 17% from ethnic minorities.
