About the director

Moby Longinotto

Moby Longinotto studied at the National Film School in England where he made his graduation film Make Me Proud that was well received internationally at film festivals and won multiple awards.

Since then he has gone on to make strong narrative observational documentaries as well as television programmes for British TV.  Waiting For Khyron, a moving film about a young couple having a baby, was made for Channel 4, was screened in London and won an award in Austria.  Bad Boy was a powerful piece made for the BBC and was screened in Brussels.

Moby’s film Small Town Boy, a move back towards his film school foundation, is a touching film about a young man struggling for identity and acceptance in the village where he lives.

According to the filmmakers

The worst thing about making it was the short time I had to shoot and the long hours. The best thing was that it was great to do something not for TV.  That made a really refreshing change.
