Synopsis

Unfolding in three chapters of rare intimacy and candour, Tres Pesos offers an insight into the everyday lives of young Cuban reggaeton musicians. Living in the neglected outskirts of Havana, the musicians who rap and jam together share a relentless hunger for success despite the poverty of their daily existence. Tres Pesos reveals young people whose survival depends on music, offering the only way out for themselves and their families.

About the director

Ruth Cross

Ruth was born in England but has lived and worked throughout the world.  She moved to Manchester to study an MA in Documentary Production during which time spent several months on exchange in Cuba.  Tres Pesos is her first feature length film.
